How it works

A bell rings. Then what?

In most buildings, the answer is a clipboard and a nervous walk around the carpark. EVAC replaces it with five connected steps — on one timeline.

1

Trigger

A verified admin activates. Two people must confirm — false alarms are designed out.

2

Alert

Every phone, wearable, Slack and Teams channel, and follower. In their own language.

3

Move

Everyone sees where to go — including wheelchair routes and audio guidance.

4

Count

"812 of 812 accounted for." Live, per person. The end of "we think everyone got out."

5

Prove

A signed, tamper-evident report the regulator, insurer and board all accept.

The catch

Free. Actually free.
Here's how.

You should be suspicious of free safety apps. Most of them pay for themselves with your data. So here is our business model, in plain words:

Schools, workplaces and venues pay for compliance tools — audit reports, drill automation, reunification. That pays for everything else. You are not the product. The paperwork is.

Never sold, never shared

Your data is not for sale — not to advertisers, not to brokers, not to anyone. Written into our terms.

Never tracked

We never know where you are — unless you turn location on yourself, or you raise an alarm yourself.

Never spammed

Less than one notification a week, or we've failed. Emergencies and the drills you asked about. That's it.

Never ads

No ad units, no sponsored alerts, no "partner offers". An emergency channel stays an emergency channel.

Never charged

Families never pay. Following a school, a workplace, a stadium — free today, free in ten years.

Never trapped

Unfollow in one tap. Delete your account and everything goes with it. Reply STOP and texts stop.

Registering stores exactly two things: how to reach you, and the places you chose. Read what we keep, and what we can't see →

The other 364 days

Useful every day.
Priceless on the worst one.

Safety apps die when they're only for emergencies. EVAC earns its place on your home screen every single morning.

Weather & hazards

For your places, not your pin

Rain radar at school pickup. A storm cell near Mum's. Bushfire risk at the site office. One glance covers everyone you love — before you've had coffee.

The school run

"Sam arrived · 8:52"

Opt-in arrival notices, late-bus alerts, and pickup coordination. Your phone checks them in at the gate — nobody is ever tracked in between.

Family at a glance

Everyone, one screen

Sam at school. Alex at work. Nan at home. Green across the board — and if any of their places ever activates, this screen becomes mission control.

When it matters

Built for the worst day.

The features nobody else ships — because we designed for the inquiry findings, not the marketing page.

Reunification that works

Every inquiry — Manchester, Uvalde — found the same failure: nobody knew where the children were. EVAC tells every parent where to collect, when, and who has them.

Every language at once

Alerts render on each phone in its owner's language — thirty languages in one stadium, no translator in the loop.

Routes for every body

Wheelchair users get step-free routes. Low vision gets audio turn-by-turn. Low hearing gets vibration and flash. Private profiles, never shared.

Works when towers fail

Alerts relay phone-to-phone over Bluetooth when networks go down — floods and blackouts included. In development, patents pending.

Safe mode

For anyone whose phone is watched: silent alerts, a neutral disguised icon, a safe word to unlock. Designed with domestic-violence specialists.

The black box

Every activation produces a signed, tamper-evident record — court-admissible, regulator-ready. "What happened" becomes one button, not two weeks.

For families

Follow the places
you love.

Your child's school. Your partner's workplace. Your parents' aged care. If a place you follow ever activates EVAC, you'll know first — and you'll know the moment everyone is safe.

  • Live status from the moment it starts — not a note home at 5pm
  • Reunification details: where to collect, when, updated live
  • The all-clear, so you're never left refreshing the news
  • App, text, or email — whatever suits you

Find your building

Minutes 2–3

Mark your assembly points

Drop up to five pins where people should gather. Add zones later if you want them — or never.

Minutes 4–5

Invite your people

Fair questions

Ask us the hard ones.

Why is it free? What's the catch?
Organisations with legal obligations — schools, hospitals, venues — pay for compliance tools: signed audit reports, drill automation, reunification. That revenue funds the free tier for everyone. The paperwork is the product. You aren't.
What data do you keep about me?
Two things: how to reach you (a number or email), and which places you chose to follow. That's the entire record. We can't see where you are — the system is built so that data never exists on our servers. If you're ever caught in an emergency and confirm you're safe, that confirmation is shared with the people managing it — because that's the point.
Will you spam me with notifications?
Our internal budget is less than one notification a week — and most weeks it's zero. Real emergencies, the all-clear, and drill notices you've opted into. There is no marketing channel to opt out of, because there is no marketing.
Do I have to install the app?
No. You can follow any place by text or email — same alerts, same all-clear. The app adds live maps, family status, and reunification details, but it's the upgrade, not the requirement.
Someone monitors my phone. Is this safe for me?
We built safe mode for exactly this: alerts arrive silently, the app hides behind a neutral icon, and a safe word unlocks it. It was designed with domestic-violence specialists, because a loud alert on a hidden phone can be dangerous. Turn it on any time in settings.
Can anyone just trigger a false alarm?
No. Live alerts require a verified safety officer plus a second admin's confirmation — a lesson learned from the 2018 Hawaii false-missile alert, which one person sent alone. Anyone can set up drills in minutes; firing a real alert requires proof you're actually responsible for the building.
How is this different from the school newsletter or SMS blast?
A blast tells you something happened. EVAC tells you what's happening: live status while it unfolds, where your child will be for collection, and the all-clear the second it's over — instead of a note home at 5pm and a long afternoon of not knowing.

Protect the people you love.
It takes a minute.

Follow one place. That's the whole ask.

Protected. Connected. When it matters most, we are already moving.
